“Either I will find a way, or I will make one” – Philip Sidney
A job is something you do. A career is something you manage, plan and invest in. The hallmark of successful people is that they know where they are going, they know where they want to be in five years time, and they identify milestones to keep them on mission. They go about their jobs, and their lives, with a purpose.
As easy as that may sound, the reality is that it is not easy to execute. It might be hard to visualise where you want to be in five years. You may love your job, but at the same time be unable to identify the right strategy to make that promotion happen. You may hate your job, but be unable to work out how to escape and find something better. You may be poor at setting the right personal goals which will motivate you to get the maximum fulfilment from your career.
You owe it to yourself to build an immersive, absorbing, enjoyable and rewarding career. This won’t happen by accident. Whether you have grand ambitions to become the CEO one day, want to switch jobs, or simply want to be more effective in your current role, you need to start with a plan.
This is where I can help you.
If you choose to work with me as your career coach, we will build a plan together to get you from where you are today, to where you want to be tomorrow. Where relevant, I can bring insight and guidance on the following topics:
♦ Setting aspirational (and inspirational) personal goals ♦ Constructing your personal mission statement ♦ Identifying your ‘value proposition’ ♦ Building your online ‘brand’ ♦ Differentiating yourself in your organisation ♦ Securing promotion ♦ Enhancing your internal network ♦ Becoming a ‘thought leader’ ♦ Managing your manager ♦ Managing yourself ♦ Identifying new external opportunities ♦ Creating an impactful CV and LinkedIn profile
